for the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present
age, looking for that blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior
Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed
and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous of good works. Speak these things,
exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you. --Titus 2:11-15
The Grace of God Teaches Us To Be The Right Kind of Person
When you talk about being the "Right Kind of Person", how do you determine what the "Right
Kind of Person" is? Do I listen to YOU, ME or GOD?
Denial (Discipline) Is Part of Being The Right Kind of Person
When defining the "Right Kind of Person" it is defined by both what you do, and what you refrain
from doing. Self-discipline is part of being the "Right Kind of Person." You must deny
ungodliness and worldly lusts.
The Right Kind of Person Is Sober (Serious)
The "Right Kind of Person" is sober, or serious. He is not facetious, or immature. That doesn't
mean that he cannot have a sense of humor; but, he must know how to take life seriously.
The Right Kind of Person Is Righteous The "Right Kind of Person" is righteous.
He thinks and does the right things in respect for God.
The Right Kind of Person Is Godly The "Right Kind of Person" is godly. He has the right attitude
toward God.
The Right Kind of Person Looks For The Blessed Hope
The "Right Kind of Person" looks for the blessed hope of heaven. How you conduct yourself
determines upon your view of and commitment to going to heaven.
The Right Kind of Person Is Zealous of Good Works
The "Right Kind of Person" is zealous of good works. He wants to do good, and is looking for
opportunities to do good. There is an attitude of joy in doing what is right.
"And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build
you up, and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified." [Acts 20:32]
